Arch-volution is a landmark publication that chronicles the rich and diverse architectural heritage of Malaysia—from vernacular origins to modern-day innovation. Commissioned to design and produce this cultural volume, our role was to transform decades of research and historical documentation into a visually engaging and cohesive narrative.

We developed the book’s identity, layout system, and graphic direction with the intent to honour the past while presenting it through a contemporary lens. Each chapter is thoughtfully structured to reflect key architectural movements, complemented by carefully curated imagery, archival drawings, and academic insights.

The design approach balanced clarity with expression: elegant typography, generous white space, and a restrained colour palette were used to let the content shine while ensuring readability across languages and generations. The final result is more than a book—it is a visual journey and educational resource, celebrating Malaysia’s architectural evolution and its ongoing dialogue with culture, climate, and community.
